Hi, I’m Karen
You don’t need fixing.
You’re not broken.
You’re just buried under everything life’s told you to be.
This is where we do the real work: the deep, grounded kind that changes how you see yourself and how you show up.
At The Foundation Studio, it’s not about being more, better, or fixed.
It’s about finally being you free, alive, unapologetic.
Who I am
Hi, I’m Karen. I’m a Women’s Coach for women living and working abroad, and the founder of The Foundation Studio.

I work with women who’ve “done the work”, know their patterns, but still feel stuck and are ready to feel at home in their own skin.
The Part of My Story That Matters to You
For a long time, my life looked great on paper.
I had:

A successful 25-year career in fashion living across 5 countries, senior roles, big responsibilities, global travel.

A life people said they envied.

And still, underneath it all, I felt:

Restless and disconnected

Like I was performing a version of me that “should” exist
Unsure who I really was outside of work and other people’s expectations
I could analyse it.
I could explain it.
I’d read the books, listened to the podcasts, done the “work”.
But it didn’t change how I actually felt in my day-to-day life.
That gap between what I knew and how I lived is what finally brought me to coaching.
Working with a coach didn’t “fix” me.
It helped me come back to myself.
That experience is why I do what I do now.
What I Bring Into Our Work
When we work together, you’re not just getting tools and techniques.
You’re getting someone who has:
Lived the high-functioning, still-not-okay life : I know what it’s like to look fine on the outside and feel lost on the inside.
Navigated big transitions and life abroad: Living and working across cultures has made me deeply curious about what shapes us and what we get to choose for ourselves.
Held responsibility, pressure and “success”: Years in fast-paced, high-stakes roles taught me how easy it is to lose yourself while ticking all the boxes.
Done the deep inner work myself: I don’t ask clients to go anywhere I haven’t been willing to go.
Our coaching is a space where all of that is welcome: your ambition, your exhaustion, your questions, your desire for more.
A bit of the human
I live in Kendal, on the edge of the Lake District, with my husband Simon and our cockapoo, Lily.
Most mornings start with a walk in nature (with Lily leading the way), a moment to breathe, and the best coffee.

The happiest you’ll find me is around a table with my favourite people, good food, wine and conversation, the kind that fills you up, you just get to be.
That’s the energy I bring into my coaching:grounded, curious, honest, and human.
